January 26, 2012 It was wonderful to get back to school, familiar faces and routine after that wild, snowy week! Many of our families and teachers experienced life without electricity, but made the best of the situation. Our campus sustained some storm damage, falling limbs crunched two sections of playground fence. We’re very thankful that the buildings and the rest of campus were unscathed! February Parent Connections—February 9
In February the toddler and primary Parent Connections are combined. Maren Ostergard, Early Literacy Librarian from the King County Library System, is coming to talk about connecting children and books. We’ll meet in the Nest classroom. Complimentary child care is provided, RSVP to Linda so that we can staff appropriately. Children’s Menu: Pizza. Dress Code: Pajamas (or comfy clothes) Adult’s Menu: Valentine’s Date!
On Saturday night, February 11, from 5:00pm-9:00pm we will have a pizza and pajama party in the Nest classroom for primary students (and alumni siblings under 10 years old). The children will make their own pizza, play games and have the opportunity to do art activities. This is our final fundraising event for our trip to the American Montessori Society conference in San Francisco in March. The cost is $10/hour, with a reduced rate for siblings, payable in cash. Please contact Linda to make reservations for the evening.
